Leading up to the 2025 NFL draft, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been talked about a lot. After a report came out that his 2025 season could be in jeopardy due to a shoulder injury, buzz immediately started rising about the Saints bringing in his replacement.
During the draft, New Orleans did select Tyler Shough. He could very well be the long-term quarterback of the future.
While Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury, he fired back at the media for reporting on the injury during a recent church service.
Granted, that sounds strange. However, Carr literally opened up about his injury at church.
"Yes, I have to say this,” Carr said. “I hate that I have to say this, but I have to say this. Yes, I have a shoulder injury, despite what ESPN says. And what some lady on a podcast might think, OK? I have an MRI report to prove it. The team knows about it. We’ve been in constant communication. There’s nothing wrong. We’re figuring it out, and we’re gonna go forward with that. Is that OK?"
No one truly knows what "lady on a podcast" Carr is talking about, but it seemingly is someone from ESPN according to his strong message.

Carr did not stop there, continuing to go on his rant at the media over his shoulder.
“And I’ve been dealing with this, and I’ve been dealing with people lying about me and I’ve been dealing with them saying this and this and that, and I’m like, ‘Lord, why do I have to continue to deal with this nonsense?" he said. "Like, what is going on?’ And I said that to a preface with you never know what someone’s really going through."
At this point int time, no timetable has been given about when Carr could play or if he will play in 2025. That information remains a mystery.
Even though Carr has now confirmed the injury, many questions still remain and the Saints still need to figure out who the starting quarterback will be this season.
