While Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are known for their moves in the ballroom, their journey off the dance floor is also inspiring others.
In a heartfelt post by entrepreneur Dean Graziosi, who has known Hough for over a decade, he expressed just how the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ icon, along with Erbert, have been navigating life since her 2023 brain injury. The thoughtful message accompanied photos of the the couple speaking and performing at a retreat hosted by Graziosi and life guru Tony Robbins.
“While the world knows him as one of the most talented dancers on the planet, what I admire most is the man he is,” Graziosi said.
“Derek’s been deep in personal growth work for years, learning from my dear friend Tony Robbins and doing the inner work most people avoid,” he continued. “And when life threw him and his wife Hayley the kind of challenge no one sees coming..a life-threatening brain injury…it was their faith, belief, and relentless positivity that carried them through. Her recovery wasn’t just miraculous… it was a testament to what’s possible when love and mindset lead the way.”
Over two years ago Erbert, 30, had a part of her skull removed in an emergency surgery due to a cranial hematoma in December of 2023. Hough documented her recovery throughout the month on Instagram.
Fast forward and the couple is regularly sharing scenes from their lives fans, from funny moments at home to Hough’s 40th birthday.
