The worlds of entertainment and politics often collide. One recent example is President Donald Trump‘s appointment of former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Siggy Flicker to the Holocaust Museum board. Siggy took to social media to show her appreciation for the position and pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.
Regarding Siggy’s stint on RHONJ, the former matchmaker appeared on the series for seasons seven and eight. She has since said that she left the show partly because Margaret Josephs reached out to her husband’s ex-wife. Additionally, she has accused Margaret of using antisemitic language toward her while she was on the show.
Siggy recently took to the X platform to share Donald Trump’s post about his recent appointments to the Holocaust Museum board. He said in his post, “I am pleased to announce that the board of the Holocaust Memorial Council has been completely formed.” He then listed the names of the new members, and Siggy’s name was first.
Trump’s post continued, “They are all strong supporters of Israel, and will ensure we, NEVER FORGET. Congratulations to all.”
Siggy’s repost said, “President Trump… Thank you for the privilege & honor to represent and NEVER FORGET.” She also included the flags for Israel and America in her statement.
The former RHONJ star has a fairly extensive history with the sitting president. Not only is she a frequent guest at Mar-a-Lago, but she has also campaigned for him. Notably, her stepson, Tyler Campanella, was also charged for his part in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol building. The current president has since pardoned him, and his charges have now been dropped.
The Holocaust Memorial Council was established by an act of Congress in 1980. Its goal was to develop a memorial to the Holocaust, which is how the Holocaust Museum was formed.
