This season on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the main cast members are all single ladies. Two marriages fell apart after Season 13 wrapped, although cameras went back up to capture Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s split. A few months later, Kyle’s former BFF Dorit Kemsley announced her own separation from husband PK Kemsley. This came after months of denial.
During Season 13, Dorit even feuded with Erika Jayne for predicting the split at BravoCon. Despite that, the tension in her marriage was a major part of the fashionista’s storyline. Which is to say, the breakup wasn’t entirely shocking to RHOBH fans. We expect to learn much more about Dorit and PK’s split this season. In the meantime, let’s look back at the separation timeline, and get an update on where the estranged spouses stand today.
October 2023: Dorit and PK Kemsley shut down split rumors
Just before the RHOBH Season 13 premiere, a report came out that Dorit and PK were living separate lives. A source claimed Dorit ended things two months before, and that PK was staying in a hotel. Before long, the couple issued a joint response to deny the rumors.
While Dorit and PK acknowledged “some challenging years,” their statement also insisted, “We have not separated nor are we planning to do so. Rather, we are focused on healing, making changes, and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage.” Alas, Dorit and PK’s denial didn’t do much to squash split speculation.
In the premiere, Sutton Stracke mentioned rumors that PK was with another woman when he got his DUI. As the Watch What Happens Live guest, Kyle insisted she didn’t know anything about a potential separation, though she later admitted to feigning ignorance. Amid all the speculation about their marriage, another report claimed that Dorit and PK owed $1 million in taxes.
March 2024: Dorit insists things are better than ever
The latter half of RHOBH Season 13 focused on Kyle and Mauricio’s split, but the writing was on the wall for Dorit and PK too. Dorit still suffered PTSD from the robbery, and her husband’s lack of empathy caused issues. Especially when he called aspects of her PTSD “annoying.” Viewers also found it odd that PK spent so much time in London for a work trip.
At the Season 13 reunion, Dorit admitted that her marriage got “progressively worse” after filming. However, she claimed the relationship was currently “better than ever.” At the time, her co-stars (and Andy Cohen) didn’t seem too convinced. And just before the reunion aired, PK was spotted without his wedding ring.
May 2024: Dorit and PK announce their separation
Turns out, those skeptical reactions were correct. On May 9, the former couple announced their separation on social media. In a since-deleted statement, they wrote, “We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage. We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together.”
They continued, “To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey. With love, Dorit and PK.” At the time, Dorit and PK insisted they weren’t headed for divorce.
After the news broke, the couples’ RHOBH co-stars were asked for their reactions. The majority admitted they weren’t shocked. Still, some fans accused it of being a publicity stunt, or Dorit’s way of keeping her spot on RHOBH for another season.
August 2024: Dorit wishes PK a happy birthday
On August 23, Dorit took to her Instagram stories to wish her estranged husband a happy 57th birthday. “Happy birthday PK! Lots of love from me and the munchkins,” she wrote over a throwback snap with their kids Jagger and Phoenix. PK spent his birthday with Mauricio. The Real Househusbands are closer than ever amidst their respective separations.
PK had multiple things to celebrate this year. He’s been very open about his sobriety journey. In September, he marked nine months sober. PK decided to become sober after his DUI. Back in Season 13, Dorit also said his drinking made it difficult to communicate and was grateful he gave up alcohol.
October 2024: RHOBH Season 14 trailer gives us a glimpse at Dorit and PK post-separation
The explosive trailer for RHOBH Season 14 proves we’re getting an activated Dorit this year. Apparently, the separation lit a fire under her. At one point, she flirts up a storm and jokes that she is single “this week.” However, in another moment, she gets visibly upset when PK says they won’t talk multiple times a day anymore.
The trailer also revealed that PK texts Kyle amidst their respective splits, which leads her to clear up romance rumors. The two couples were always very close, but this revelation still comes as a surprise. Considering how Dorit and Kyle are at each other’s throats the whole trailer, that can’t help things.
Halloween 2024: Dorit and PK celebrate Halloween and son Jagger’s recovery
The Kemsley family celebrated Halloween by dressing as The Flintstones. The family costume brought some much-needed joy amidst son Jagger’s hospitalization. “The past month has been very difficult for our family,” Dorit wrote on Instagram. “Luckily, this incredibly brave, courageous little boy is a fighter,” she continued, “and we were able to enjoy Halloween like he desperately wanted to.” She wrote the holiday was “extra special for all of us.”
Dorit thanked the medical team for “all the love and support.” PK did the same on his own Instagram. The co-parents also gushed over their son, both comparing him to Rocky. Dorit added, “I’m in awe and so proud of our little munchkin, his strength, positive mindset and can do attitude he’s maintained through everything he’s been through.” She concluded, “Feeling blessed and hopeful that better days lay ahead.”
November 2024: Dorit and PK face pre-foreclosure
At this time, neither party has filed for divorce. As of now, it seems the estranged spouses have other legal actions to sort out. Just ahead of the RHOBH Season 14 premiere, news broke that Dorit and PK’s mansion is in pre-foreclosure. Reportedly, they missed four months of payments on their $7.5 million home.
This is the latest in a long line of financial woes. Earlier this year, Dorit settled over $800,000 in debt to a closet organizing service. Pre-foreclosure means that the Kemsleys still have a chance to pay off their debts and save their home. We’ll have to wait and see how they handle this latest setback. And if it impacts the state of their relationship.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills can be streamed on Peacock.
