It’s been a minute since we’ve had The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on our screens, but they’re back!
Bozoma offers us a lighter side of life, letting us catch a glimpse of her relationship, Erika celebrates the release of her new single, and Garcelle proudly shows off her beach house. Dorit is still doing the most, refusing to be anyone’s punching bag.
Despite recent apologies, Dorit continues beefing with Kyle. This time it’s about Kyle’s text communication with PK… and Dorit is NOT happy about it, to say the least.
Bozoma and her boyfriend, Keely, seem to be deep in love. I mean, a beachside picnic is an extremely thoughtful gesture, which is necessary to keep their long-distance relationship alive. Keely talks about their relationship dynamic and wants to be sure they stay aligned as a couple. Boz loves the honesty they have and the consistency Keely gives to her.
Dorit and Erika meet up to discuss life these days. Dorit’s parents are in town, which has been a help, considering Dorit is having a hard time keeping it together since the separation. Dorit explains that as of now, she is able to compartmentalize her emotions about PK. She reflects on the aggressive way they once spoke to each other, but she is still not sure if she should shut the door completely on their marriage.
Dorit feels as though she has been too forgiving, and that is why she went off on Sutton at Kyle’s party. The comment Sutton made about Dorit being unhappy in her life is not quite “sisterly” since, according to Dorit, one should never kick a friend when they are down.
Garcelle has the whole fam with her to spend some time at her new beach house. She is beyond proud to show it off and is amazed at all she has been able to accomplish in her life. Garcelle is happy that she is in an amazing place with her children now, as well, especially when it comes to Oliver, who at one point was homeless and dealing with addiction.
Garcelle reflects on how years ago she had an incident with an erratic Oliver and cries thinking about how she did not take her own son in. She shares the guilt she has felt, but she realizes that tough love, and OJ, his young son, have been key to Oliver’s new life.
Boz pays a visit to Dorit’s home for a little “girl time.” According to Boz, Dorit likes to talk and she likes to listen; therefore, they are a match made in heaven. Dorit opens up about the four-hour therapy session she had with PK, who, evidently, came in to fight. During the session, PK shouted, “This is why I want a divorce and I don’t want to be married to this woman!” Dorit calls this a “bombshell.”
Boz brings up Dorit’s spat with Camille and wonders why Kyle would even invite Camille to the party. Dorit points out that Kyle “deliberately” did not tell her that Camille was coming to the party, which seems shady. Boz goes on to say her feelings got hurt when Sutton told Dorit she is angry at her life. Being vulnerable is hard with Sutton, particularly because she appears to “weaponize” the information you share with her.
Erika has a celebrity interior designer over to give her house a facelift. She can totally afford this. I see dollar signs in the designer’s eyes as he walks about, kicking around ideas, and getting Erika excited for her future. It’s time to make this house a home.
It seems like things are turning around for Erika, as she is being honored at the Viper Room for the release of her new single. As she preps for the event, Dorit FaceTimes her. Dorit does a wonderful job of making the moment about her despite this being a huge honor for Erika.
Dorit wonders if PK and Kyle are speaking since “once upon a time, they did text,” and she feels frustrated since she has no insight into PK’s life nowadays. Dorit decides she will ask Kyle about her recent interactions with PK at Erika’s event — totally appropriate.
The Viper Room is a hot L.A. club that Garcelle has frequented in the past. Although Kyle has never been to the Viper Room, she has spent her fair share of time at other clubs. Perhaps to make people talk, Kyle rolls up with Kesha, yet another female musician friend…
On the way to the event, Sutton admits to Jennifer that she is nervous after the “prickly energy” from Boz and Dorit the other evening. As soon as the ladies settle in, Sutton pulls Boz aside to have a chat about her use of the word “weaponize.”
Sutton tries to explain that she did not intend to hurt Dorit, but Boz points out that she DID. Sutton gets called out for being angry in the moment, but Sutton feels like Boz doesn’t understand her point of view. Boz thinks she has Sutton’s number — there is another side of Sutton that is starting to show itself.
Erika rolls up to the Viper Room and reminds the ladies that this is meant to be a fun event — aka, don’t ruin this for her. When Erika gets up on the stage, she realizes how much she appreciates doing what she loves best after her dark chapter in life. After Erika’s performance (aka, stomping around the stage, talking while her single plays), Dorit jumps right in on Kyle.
She reminds Kyle that PK is in an unpredictable state of mind, and she is not sure what to expect of him. Dorit is fishing to see if Kyle is still in contact with PK, and Kyle does admit, yes, they do share memes and jokes, but nothing about PK’s relationship (…and the problem is?).
Dorit questions if even now Kyle gets memes from PK. Kyle plays the “communication” down, but Dorit is annoyed that Kyle would be in contact with her husband, especially when things are not good with their friendship. Kyle reminds Dorit that she is a girls’ girl, and when push comes to shove, she will always have Dorit’s back, but Dorit is not satisfied. She tells Kyle that PK makes her life “difficult” with the lack of communication, and Sutton jumps in to remind Dorit she cannot shield the kids forever.
Although Sutton is coming from a good place, this didn’t land quite the way it was supposed to. Dorit cannot believe that Sutton claims to be a safe, reliable friend. Based on her recent actions toward Dorit, it seems otherwise. Sutton wonders what she has ever done to Dorit, and Erika reminds Sutton that she insulted Dorit and “made her feel low” at Kyle’s party.
Sutton makes it clear that she would be there if Dorit needed her, but Dorit wonders why kicking women when they are down should be okay. Fed up, Sutton makes it clear that she is NOT friends with Dorit, and so they will just be cordial from this point on.
Kyle brings the convo back to her. If she knew it bothered Dorit that she sent memes to PK, she would stop, even though in her confessional, Kyle states that PK has been a better friend to her than Dorit has, which is quite telling. Kyle wonders where this is coming from and is unsure why Dorit is once again jumping down her throat. Dorit tries to clarify the source of her anger: “It’s not the texting – it’s the not telling me.”
Kyle tells Dorit she is done doing this back and forth with her, which leaves Dorit confused. Kyle has tried to fix things with Dorit, but she is being “bitter.” Kyle has already apologized and raises her voice, wondering what else she can do to end this. Dorit lashes back at Kyle, shouting, “Stop f*cking raising your voice at me. You don’t get to speak to me that way.” Maybe Sutton was on to something when she called Dorit out for being angry at her life. To be continued…
