General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate the news of Kelly Thiebaud’s return has been a very welcome surprise for fans.
While the show remains hush-hush about whether or not Thiebaud will be reprising her Dr. Britt Westbourne role, most GH viewers would love to see The Britch miraculously make a comeback. In celebration of this possibility, below are three of Britt’s best moments on the ABC soap.
Moment #1 – Britt Westbourne’s Bond with Spencer Cassadine
GH spoilers remind fans that when Britt first entered the canvas in 2012, she was a villainess on all accounts. With that said, over time, she walked a road of redemption.
One of her most pivotal romances on the soap was with Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss), and in that relationship, she forged a beautiful bond with his only son at the time, Spencer Cassadine (last played by Nicholas Chavez).
While Britt teetered on villainess status during that point, she was always different when it came to Spence, and their closeness was something that remained intact even years after she broke things off with his father.
Moment #2 – The Britch & Dr. O
Britt and Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) had a rocky relationship over the years. Both women weren’t exactly saints in Port Charles (is anyone perfect, though …), and like many mother-and-daughter duos, there was a long time where both Liesl and Britt clashed on everything.
However, much like her daughter, Liesl worked hard to shed her former manipulative self over the years and “do better”.
By the time Britt’s passing came to be, these women had nicely mended their broken fences. Will GH give them a second chance to re-establish their bond?
Moment #3 – Falling For Stone Cold
One of the biggest reasons many fans would love to see Britt return is so that she could have a romantic reunion with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). The two had incredible chemistry and shared some beautiful moments.
While marrying Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in the fall of 2021 dampened their romance, after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) returned from Nixon Falls, Jason and Britt were navigating toward a reunion.
Sadly, Jason was presumed dead after a tunnel collapsed on him in Greece, later in 2021. Then Britt passed away at the hands of The Hook a.k.a. Heather Webber (Alley Mills) in 2023, only for Jason to return from the dead in early 2024.
Interestingly enough, Jason hasn’t entered a relationship since his return, even though there have been opportunities. He’s had a kiss with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and everyone thought he might get involved with Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) when he pretended to be her baby daddy.
With that said, now that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) is back, this is highly unlikely. Has GH been waiting for Britt’s return to give Jason a real romance that fans could sink their teeth into?
