Bindi Irwin showed what dance meant to her when she competed on “Dancing With the Stars” Season 21 in 2015, alongside professional partner Derek Hough. The pair ended up winning the hearts of the audience, and Irwin impressed with her moves, which led to her winning the show. Her time on the ABC competition may be over, but her love of dance continues, and it’s something she shares with her daughter.
Irwin is a mother to one child, a daughter named Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, whom she shares with husband Chandler Powell. She was born on March 25, 2021. The proud mama occasionally gives fans a glimpse into their lives with sweet posts on Instagram, and a post from June 22 highlighted the family’s close bond.
The pictures show Irwin, Powell, and their daughter spending time outdoors, and the wildlife conservationist shared more about what was happening in her post in her caption. “Visiting one of our conservation properties. Every day I ask Grace what her favourite part of the day was and to tell me something she’s grateful for,” she wrote. “Today her answers were: ‘Being with you,’ and ‘Dancing with you.’ I’m holding onto these moments for the rest of my existence.”
The comment section of the post has been flooded with replies, including a message from Powell, who wrote, “Such magical memories.” Bindi’s mom, Terri Irwin, also commented. She wrote, “Living the good old days!”
Reactions from fans include, “Grace is so precious. You & Chandler are such incredible parents.
Such a Breathtaking place!,” “Precious honestly of youth. How special and what a great reflection of both you & hubby’s parenting,” and “May you both always feel so loved…and dance, dance, dance!!”
Bindi Irwin Opens up About Motherhood
Irwin has been open with her fans about many aspects of her life, including motherhood. In an interview with Today in February 2025, she discussed how she combines her life as a wildlife conservationist with being a parent. “Just recently, we released a sea turtle back into the wild. She really developed a bond with it,” she said of her daughter Grace.
Bindi also spoke about Grace’s emotions. “Her feelings and emotions are very, very big, and I love that so much about her,” she told Today. “The things that are important to a 3-year-old are so fabulous, and I try really hard to take them seriously. If Grace wants her Elsa doll to meet the tortoises, for example, her mom says, ‘OK, we’re going to make this work.’ I try to say yes to as much as I can.”
