DWTS' Derek Hough Confesses Deception Before Hayley Erbert Pregnancy Announcement

'Dancing With the Stars' couple Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert were sure fooling fans on social media.

On July 22, Dancing With the Stars couple Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Hough announced that they are expecting their first child together. Friends, family and fans were quick to leave comments on the Instagram video of how excited they are about the impending bundle of joy.

And now Hough says he and Erbert can stop fooling everyone on social media.

In an Instagram story on Thursday, July 24, Hough revealed that he has had to distinctly make sure Erbert was not seen in any of his social media videos lately — despite the fact that he has posted several videos in the past few weeks that feature his wife.

"Not going to lie, I'm so excited to now include you in my videos now again because now everybody knows, and I can start having you in my videos again," says Hough in his IG story that shows Erbert and their dogs just enjoying life in their home.

"How cute does she look?! She looks so cute," he added because there is definitely a tiny baby bump showing.

Indeed, just a quick glance at Hough's Instagram and it looks like perhaps the last video Erbert filmed in real time with no baby bump was in early June. In the videos posted since then, they are either hiding the baby bump or it was perhaps filmed prior to their being a bump to hide. Either way, Hough clearly had to be careful about any impromptu social media posts because they didn't want to let the cat out of the bag too early on.

Hough and Erbert started dating 10 years ago this month, in July 2015. They met when Erbert was hired as a dancer on Derek and sister Julianne Hough's Move Live on Tour. Erbert was then hired as a Dancing With the Stars troupe member for six seasons. Hough and Erbert got engaged in June 2022 and were married in August 2023.
