DWTS Fans Buzz Over Upcoming Season 34 Casting Announcement

“Dancing with the Stars” fans are already buzzing over the cast list for season 34, even though it will not debut until September.

Robert Irwin was already announced as a contestant, and another announcement is on the horizon. As DWTS fans wait for official word on who will hit the dance floor this fall, speculation is swirling.

A 2nd Contestant Announcement Is on the Horizon

Ordinarily, cast announcements are kept close to the vest and made closer to the season’s beginning. On April 22, ABC revealed that Robert Irwin, the younger brother of “Dancing with the Stars” champion Bindi Irwin, would be competing on the upcoming season.

A synopsis for the May 22 episode of “Good Morning America” indicates that another cast reveal will occur during that show. The guest list for the day includes “And Just Like That…” star Cynthia Nixon, and some “Dancing with the Stars” fans thought it was Nixon who would be announced as an upcoming contestant.

However, those are two separate things coming up on Thursday’s show.

“Wait I got excited thinking it was gonna be Cynthia Nixon,” one “Dancing with the Stars” fan admitted in the show’s subreddit. Several others had the same reaction.

Another show fan commented, “I approve of this monthly slow drip of contestants! It’s gotta be someone good if it’s a GMA announcement.”

“Omg I read this too fast and got so excited thinking it was Robin [Roberts],” someone else wrote. If Roberts were to do the show, she wouldn’t be the first “Good Morning America” person to do it.
