DWTS' Kym Johnson Makes Huge Career Announcement: 'Beyond Proud'

Former 'Dancing With the Stars' pro Kym Johnson-Herjavec is 'beyond proud' to share some 'exciting news' with her fans.

Kym Johnson-Herjavec retired from Dancing With the Stars in 2017 after competing in 15 seasons of the show, dating all the way back to the third season in 2006. She also returned in season 32 for the dance number tribute to late judge Len Goodman.

But since hanging up her ballroom shoes, Johnson-Herjavec has pivoted to acting and TV production, and on April 30, she shared big news with her fans — her dance-themed Christmas movie is coming to life.

In an Instagram post, Johnson-Herjavec credited her mentor Beth Stevenson with teaching her everything she knows about the world of TV and film and said that she's "beyond proud" to share the news with her fans that their film is being made.

"For the past 6 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with the amazing @bethbrainpower Beth Stevenson — a true force in the world of film. She’s been my mentor and guide, teaching me everything about movie-making: development, finance, sales, and all the magic in between," writes Johnson-Herjavec. "Together, we created a beautiful dance-themed Christmas movie—and after many ups and downs, I’m beyond proud to say… we sold it!"

The 48-year-old professional dancer is mum on the details, teasing that she "can't wait to share more soon," but she did encourage her followers to never give up on their dreams.

"I’ve always believed it’s never too late to grow, evolve, and learn something new," she writes, adding, "It’s never too late to pivot your career or follow a new dream."

This is not Johnson-Herjavec's first foray into show business beyond Dancing With the Stars. In 2024, she starred in the Lifetime movie Hunting Housewives alongside Denise Richards, NeNe Leakes and Melyssa Ford. They played four frenemies who had to fight for their lives after their plane crashed in the wilderness, and they realized they were not alone.

Johnson-Herjavec married her Dancing With the Stars season 20 partner Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank in 2016, and in 2018, she gave birth to their twins, Hudson and Haven, who just turned 7 on April 24.
