Ezra Sosa of Dancing with the Stars was almost part of another incredibly big dancing family. He almost auditioned to be a dancer on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. And not to toot his own horn or anything, but he’s pretty sure he would have landed a spot if he did.
Ezra joined DWTS in 2021 as part of the dance troop. But of course, he was working up to becoming a dance pro for the show. He landed the coveted pro spot in Season 33. It turns out it was a good thing he didn’t go to the Era’s Tour audition after all.

Ezra appeared on the Just Trish podcast to talk about his experiences with DWTS, his controversial partner, his dance experience, and what he considers his “biggest flop.”
“I think my biggest flop was not going to Taylor Swift’s audition for her tour,” he shared with Trish. “I was invited,” he confirmed. But he didn’t go because of his commitment to DWTS.
Trish added that he was really busy and Ezra added that he thinks he would have landed the job if he had gone to the audition.
“I think if I would have gone to the audition, I would have booked it because it was Mandy Moore (the choreographer and not the actress), and she trained me growing up,” he shared.
“I had that close connection and the material of it, I could have crushed it,” he added. Mandy also choreographed for DWTS.
Ezra shared he was no longer sad about the missed opportunity. It showed his loyalty to DWTS because he was a swing for them at the time. “I knew my heart was in Dancing with the Stars,” he admitted.
And his loyalty paid off. He became a pro the following season and was partnered with controversial Anna Delvey. Ezra made it work though and even wore an ankle monitor in solidarity with her and got a tattoo in honor of Anna’s controversial exit from the show.
Plus he also had fun making TikToks and poking fun at other DWTS couples including Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko.
It looks like Ezra made the right choice for his career. Looking forward to seeing more of him in the next season.
