“Dancing With the Stars” has only officially announced one celebrity contestant for Season 34. Still, there have been rumors about who else could join Robert Irwin to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. Several names have been tossed out, but the most compelling evidence thus far was when a “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star posted a clip on Instagram that showed her dancing, surrounded by mirrorballs and with a large DWTS sign in the background.
It was only a split-second video, but it got attention. Is Whitney Leavitt the next star to join the show? Ahead of the official announcement, two of her co-stars weighed in on the speculation.
What Did ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Stars Say About DWTS?
Layla Taylor and Miranda McWhorter gave an interview to Parade on May 20. In it, they were asked to share their thoughts on Leavitt’s inclusion on the show (and if they knew what was going on, they did not share any secrets).
“I think it would be awesome if any of us girls got the opportunity to do it for sure,” McWhorter told Parade. “At this point, we don’t know if any of the girls are on the [DWTS] show. But I think it would be an amazing opportunity.” Taylor also commented on her co-star’s dancing skills, saying, “It’s no secret she loves to dance. It’s ridiculous!” So, this is neither a confirmation nor a denial!
Leavitt could be a great addition to the show because she has a dancing background. She danced competitively as a child and later focused on dance at university. Fans have also witnessed her skills in videos posted on TikTok.
Has Whitney Leavitt Addressed the DWTS Speculation?
Leavitt has been active on social media and posted a new video on Instagram on May 20. However, she did not address the rumors about her involvement in DWTS. Instead, she created a post alongside fellow “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, Demi Engemann.
Fans of the show will know that both women have a bit of a reputation for being villains after Season 2, and they have poked fun at this with their post. In the short video clip, they do different poses, while the text overlay states, “cool poses for villains.” The playful post has attracted a lot of fan attention, so whether Leavitt is going to put on her dancing shoes or not, she’s got everyone’s attention.
