Dylan Garand will get the opportunity to display his skills on an international stage as he was named to Team Canada for the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship.
Garand has shown a ton of promise through his time with the Hartford Wolf Pack, but he’s yet to crack any sort of consistent role with the New York Rangers as Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick hold down the fort.
The Rangers selected Garand in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft and he has since emerged as the Rangers’ top goalie prospects.
He’ll play alongside Marc-André Fleury with Team Canada during his final days playing hockey, which could be a valuable experience for Garand.
The 22-year-old recorded a 20-10-9 record with a .913 save percentage, and 2.73 goals against average while also representing the Atlantic Division at the AHL All-Star Game this season.
Garand joins Will Cuylle, Brett Berard, and Mika Zibanejad as Rangers players to participate in the World Championship.
