Jason Kelce is a man who seems to have it all.
Minus one more ring.
Brandon Graham is still celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory and his own retirement after 15 seasons. But he's also taking a moment to reflect on former teammate Jason Kelce ... who as it happens retired just one year too soon to experience another championship.
“If I ain't make it back to the Super Bowl, I probably wouldn't be up here right now,” Graham admitted during his emotional retirement press conference. “I promise you, I'd be begging to come on back one more.''
So the Super Bowl win freed Graham to finally give it up. ... all part of the bittersweet nature of competing in the NFL.
In a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, Graham and the fellas exchanged thoughts on all of this.
“I don't know that anybody represented what it is to be a Philadelphia Eagle more than Brandon,” Kelce said of Graham, while Graham emphasized how much he had wished his longtime teammate could have experienced this final championship run.
That followed Brandon's comments following Kelce's decision.
Graham said a year ago, “I feel like he is about to go kill it and do even more than he did on the field. That's really the goal for all of us — just to make sure that we all find that love and passion for what we are doing after the fact because we have been playing this game for so long.”
Kelce is certainly doing that, morphing into a national media star while also devoting his life to his family ... and hopefully not too haunted by the nightmare of missing out on more jewelry.
Now that Graham is joining Kelce in retirement? We're sure Eagles fans know he too is about to "go kill it'' as an ex-football player ... with one more ring that buddy Jason.
