Edvinsson won bronze with the Swedes at the 2022 World Junior, and now he'll be looking to improve on that mark at Worlds, which are set to run from May 9-22, split between Stockholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark.
Edvinsson joins the Swedes on the heels of his first full season in the NHL, having scored seven goals and giving 24 assists in 78 games to go with a +12 rating. Edvinsson showed he can play difficult top four minutes, while chipping in some offense despite precious little power play time.
For Edvinsson, Worlds will be about more than a medal at the end of May. Edvinsson did not earn the call to play for Sweden at February's 4 Nations Face-Off, but with a few extra months of experience, he will be in with a great chance to represent the Swedes next February at the Olympics. A strong showing at Worlds could go a long way toward demonstration his fitness for such a spot.
