Emily Simpson Reveals Why She'd "Never Leave" Her Husband, Shane

Weeks after celebrating her wedding anniversary, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom hopped on Instagram to declare her permanent commitment to Shane Simpson. She posted a 13-second video that shed more light on her marriage dynamic and revealed the three reasons she’d “never leave” her husband. And, in typical Emily fashion, she infused the lovey-dovey post with a big dose of comedy.

Emily on why she'll never split from Shane: "I don't do favors..."

“Three reasons I’d never leave my husband: 1. I’d be doing him a favor; and I don’t do favors,” she wrote in the Saturday, March 1 video. “2. He’d have a lot more money without me so I need to keep him motivated. 3. His life would be too peaceful and calm. Living with me teaches him how to handle chaos and insanity.”

The video montage featured moments from the couple’s everyday life. There was a clip of Shane opening Krispy Kreme boxes in their kitchen, a shot of him rocking an Iron Man helmet, and footage of the couple’s boat ride.

“Mr. Calm and Mrs. Chaos. Which one are you?!” Emily captioned the Reel. “Follow me for more marriage advice.”

Emily celebrates 16th anniversary with Shane

Emily and Shane tied the knot in 2009 and went on to welcome three children together: 10-year-old twin sons, Luke and Keller; and 11-year-old daughter, Annabelle. Shane entered the marriage with two daughters, Shelby and Chanel, from a previous relationship.

This past Valentine’s Day, Emily celebrated 16 years of marriage by sharing another sweet tribute for her hubby. The post included footage of the couple’s relaxing beach day and a heartfelt message about their relationship. 

“16 years ago we married at the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas without a lot of forethought or planning,” she wrote. “We didn’t really date first, it was just a giant leap of faith into the unknown. It hasn’t always been roses and rainbows… a lot of it has been hard, emotional, trying, draining and challenging… But we made commitments to each other and we stuck to it. Through the really dark times and through the really amazing times. We remained steadfast in our commitments to each other and our children.”

Emily referred to Shane as “admirable and honorable” and praised his role as a father.

“Having a front row seat to watch you parenting our children with such care, love, grace and respect touches my heart in ways I can’t even explain,” she continued. ‘They have no idea how lucky and blessed they are… Ladies, pick a man with honor who will stick by you through it all, pick a man who can make you laugh, pick a man with strong morals and ethics and pick a man who will be an amazing father… I did.”
