Emmerdale Fans in Tears as April Honors a Lost Soul in a Powerful Way!

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) made huge amounts of progress in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, as she decided to register the birth of her stillborn baby girl.

April gave birth to her baby when she was living on the streets. The young girl was rushed to hospital after this due to being found on a park bench in a terrible condition.

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were thrilled to be reunited with April, but reconnecting with her has been difficult. As Marlon explained to his partner tonight, it feels like there’s a part of April’s life that he can’t get access to.

Ultimately though, this is true. Only April knows what her life on the streets was like, and all Marlon and Rhona can do is support her when she allows it.

Tonight’s episode of the ITV soap focused on a meeting with April’s social worker. It initially was only going to be between the two of them, but Marlon managed to sort a deal out that meant he and Rhona could attend as well.

Perhaps unexpectedly, Marlon spent a lot of the time speaking for April, or taking control of the conversation. He was trying to help, but he just wasn’t doing a very good job.

Eventually, April asked if Marlon and Rhona could leave.

The time alone with her social worker allowed April to be very honest about her feelings. When Marlon and Rhona returned, April announced that she’d actually like to register her daughter’s birth.

April called her little girl Rebecca, after the young women who was stabbed while April was homeless. On the document, she noticed the title ‘mother’ and sighed.

When Paddy (Dominic Brunt) popped by to check in, April decided to tell them some more news. She revealed that she’d like to go back to school tomorrow, but Marlon, Rhona and Paddy couldn’t help but wonder if it was a little too early.

April reminded them that she’s a 15-year-old girl, registering her daughter’s birth and thinking about a possible funeral isn’t normal – but going to school is.

Clearly searching for something that reminds April of her life before she disappeared, she seemed ready to face her classmates again.

But is it too early, as Marlon believes?
