Erika Jayne is surprisingly relatable on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this season. She’s on the other side of the legal woes that continue to plague her ex-husband Tom Girardi. And now, she’s healing in a very humble way.
Erika is all about fresh beginnings. With her career on the up again, the RHOBH star is remodeling her home, and perhaps looking for a new love in her life. All options are on the table four years after her separation, except marriage.
Erika Jayne is focused on “rebuilding” her life
Erika said as much during an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish earlier this month. She is due to appear in a three-week run on Broadway as Roxie Hart, and revealed that she is open to dating while in the Big Apple.
“Yes, it’s on the table,” she said of the January 20 to February 9 run. “Of course it’s on the table, yeah.”
The single Bravolebrity revealed that she has been focusing more on internal work rather than the dating scene.
“I have done a lot of work on myself and pulling myself together, rebuilding my life,” Erika explained.
However, it’s not all metaphysical work. The Pretty Mess singer teased that it’s also “a time to be open and to have fun.”
“Like I said years ago, I don’t think I’ll ever be legally married to anyone ever again,” she explained. ”But, of course, you know, the idea of having someone in your life is a nice, is a nice idea.”
Erika advised to take time before making a commitment
The Broadway star advised her fans not to take commitment lightly. She suggested taking time before taking any further steps.
“I’ll say this: Please take time to get to know who you’re dating before you make any sort of commitment, whether you move in together, you get engaged, or you get married,” she said.
Erika continued, “Please give it enough time. And I mean like a year or more before you start to see, and let the hormones wear off just for a second so you can actually see the person for who they are. It takes time. People put their best foot forward. They put masks on to present the best version of themselves in the first six, nine months. It’s when that is over that you start to see who the people are. Look for that.”
She also noted that “life is long” to be stuck in an unhappy partnership. And if there are legal bindings, the situation is complicated further.
“There are many fish in the sea and if something doesn’t work out, I guarantee you it wasn’t meant to be and there’s something better. Don’t worry. You can have many loves throughout your life,” Erika concluded. “It’s going to be okay.”
