Erika Jayne Reacts to Her Song Featured in Oscar-Winning Movie Anora

In case you missed it, Anora swept the Oscars last night after taking home five of the six awards it was nominated for. Those accolades included Best Actress, Best Editing, and the big award of the night, Best Picture. It was an impressive feat for an indie movie about a sex worker, but for us, it always comes back to Bravo. Did you know that Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had a little part in the movie? She wasn’t in it, but her song definitely was.

Drip, Erika’s collab with Brooke Candy, was featured in Anora. When it was released last year, she spoke to Bravo’s The Daily Dish about how exciting it was to have a small part of the film. She wound up hosting a screening for the movie in partnership with the film’s production company. When it started getting Oscar buzz, she could hardly believe it.

“Can you imagine?! I mean, like this song that I recorded a few years ago, where I was like, ‘Eh,’ and now here it is. It’s in Anora,” Erika said.

On Sunday, March 2, when the film started sweeping the Academy Awards left and right, Bozoma Saint John sent a shoutout to Erika on Instagram. Erika later reposted the kudos from the RHOBH newbie.

Boz wrote, “So basically, [Erika] won an adjacent [Academy] Award since her song is featured in this Oscar winning Best Picture film!”

Of course, this isn’t Erika’s first time having a small connection to an Oscar-winning film. Her ex-husband, Tom Girardi, was a lawyer on the case that inspired Erin Brockovich. Just like Anora, that film was nominated for Best Picture. Although it didn’t win the big prize, its leading lady also won the award for Best Picture that year. The bottom line is that there’s always a Bravo connection, sometimes you just have to look for it!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
