On the current season of Real Housewives of Orange County, John is suing his ex Shannon – who recently got a DUI – while also pursuing a relationship with her co-star Alexis. Despite the controversy surrounding their relationship, Alexis recently shared that they’re engaged.

On Teddi Mellencamp’s Two Ts In A Pod podcast, Erika hinted that Alexis is living in a “fantasy land” that “still feels good” with John, as they’re less than a year into the relationship.

“I don’t know these people, but I do know something about human nature,” said Erika, via @byewighellodrama on Instagram. “It’s only a matter of time before he does to Alexis what he did to Shannon.”

Erika predicts this will happen “even under the best of circumstances.”

“It may not be this year. It may not be in three years, and it may take five, 10 years, but it will be done,” she said. “Because people are who they are. It’s like cheaters, it doesn’t matter. Maybe you didn’t cheat today, but you will do it again … when given the opportunity.”

Erika added that she “prefer[s]” not to see Shannon drinking “while she’s having such a terrible time” as she feels it’s “counterproductive.”

Teddi alluded to Erika’s drinking issues after the allegations against Tom surfaced.

“I was trying to die,” recalled Erika, who said she used alcohol to numb it all. “I was trying to hurt myself. I was really trying to not wake up … I wanted it to stop, all of it.”

As for Tom’s recent guilty verdict, Erika said she was hurt to hear it. She “slid back into a place” where she thought “it’s happening again,” and she couldn’t “get out of bed.”

The star said she called her therapist for help.
