ESPN analyst predicts who will win the NFC South in 2024

The New Orleans Saints have a lot on the line in 2024. Dennis Allen has pressure on him. Fans want more from Derek Carr. The defense must prove that the veteran talent can lead the team again.

How well does ESPN's Mike Clay think the Saints will fare this upcoming season?

ESPN's expected win totals for every NFC South team

Carolina Panthers: 7.5 wins

Not sure about this one. Carolina has the worst roster in football. That being said, they still got the number 24 ranking in the league for their projections in 2024. Bryce Young could make a step forward, but his line is still unproven, and his receiving core is subpar. Their defense is less talented upfront with the loss of Brian Burns, too.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 7.6

This one was a bit surprising, too. They are the reigning division champs and kept most of their top talent in the building. I'd expect they win between eight and ten games in 2024.

New Orleans Saints: 8.8

This projection should not surprise fans. Many analysts have projected New Orleans right around the eight to ten win mark, just like TB. Clay thinks the defense will be a solid unit compared to the rest of the NFC, but he lacks confidence in their offense.

Atlanta Falcons: 9.4

Winner, winner - chicken dinner. Clay thinks that the addition of some key depth pieces, a new staff, and Kirk Cousins can be the difference for ATL. You can't blame him. Their offense should be better, and the secondary has some notable talent. We will see if they win the NFC South as Clay expects.

Overall, not too much shocking from the ESPN analyst. Let's see if the Saints prove him wrong this season.
