The New York Jets signed Justin Fields to compete to be their starting quarterback in 2025.

But Fields had a decision to make, too.

The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal in New York. Last season he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and they reportedly wanted him back.

In 2024, Fields completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards. Fields had 10 total touchdowns (5 passing) with just one interception. He had a 4-2 record as a starter before the Steelers replaced him with veteran Russell Wilson when he was healthy.

Regardless, Fields had to make a decision. He chose New York and ESPN's NFL insider Jeremy Fowler provided some context.

Whether it's related to being benched for Wilson last year or something else, Fowler said Fields felt more "love" from the Jets than the Steelers.
