Evan Engram Reveals Who Convinced Him to Join Broncos

The Denver Broncos made a lot of major additions to the team in free agency. One of the most important ones was the signing of tight end Evan Engram. Denver was going up against the Los Angeles Chargers for Engram, and Engram revealed one of the people behind him choosing Denver.

In an exclusive interview with DNVR's Bennie Fowler, Engram revealed that Broncos' quarterbacks coach Davis Webb was the first person to call him from the Broncos after his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Engram talked about how "My boy Webb," was his main point of contact with the Broncos organization during their pursuit of the tight end. Webb and Engram were both drafted by the New York Giants in the 2017 NFL Draft, with Engram in the first and Webb in the third round.

In the interview with Fowler, Engram talked about who was the first to call him after his release from the Jaguars.

"Really the first guy to call me that night I got released. I guess they (Broncos) gave him the keys to really amp up that recruitment process because my boy hit me up with a 30-minute jus straight bar-for-bar snap on what they got going on in Denver."

Webb was Engram's tour guide during his visit to the Broncos facility. Engram said that that the visit was great. "That experience was such a blessing."

The effort from the Broncos, and Webb especially, ended up working out as Engram chose to head to Denver over the division-rival Chargers.

Engram's fit in Sean Paytons offense is perfect, as he fills the 'joker' role that Payton has been looking for all offseason. His addition to the offense also gives the Broncos a lot more flexibility during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Thanks to Webb, the Broncos' quarterback's coach, Engram chose to come to Denver. The fit is great, and with someone in the building that he already is great friends with, it made Engram's decision all the easier.
