When the season 1 finale of Fire Country back in May, it left everyone in disbelief.
All season long, viewers watched convict Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot) work at Three Rock as a way to potentially shorten his five-year prison sentence. When he finally got the opportunity to make his case for parole, he suddenly rolled the dice in a way nobody saw coming. Amid things finally looking up for him, Bode learned that he got framed for being a drug dealer at the prison camp. When he also discovered that his luck is the reason a close friend may never leave the establishment, he "confessed" that he relapsed.

Will there be a Fire Country season 2?
In early January, dedicated fans of Cal Fire and Three Rock got the best news. In an announcement released by Deadline, folks learned that Fire Country got renewed for season 2. At the time, the outlet reported the show was the top new broadcast series for the 2022-2023 season. What's more, the publication added that Fire Country garnered an average of eight million viewers per episode ahead of its renewal.

When the news broke about Fire Country returning for an all-new season, the show's social team confirmed it in a special post on Instagram. "This story's not done yet," read the caption. #FireCountry has officially been renewed for season 2! 🔥."

That wasn't the only way Fire Country acknowledged the season 2 announcement. In a video posted on actor/executive producer Max Thieriot's Instagram, folks at CBS surprised him with a cardboard cutout of himself dressed in character.

When will season 2 of Fire Country premiere?
It's time to get the rescue gear together, because Fire Country season 2 will air new episodes starting Friday, February 16, 2024 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

It's important to note that when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes occurred earlier this year, Stephanie Arcila revealed to Parade that production was actually meant to start in early July. At the time though, she felt that the strikes could potentially impact the show.
"This is my first time going through a writers' strike, so I'm learning a lot," she said. "I hope that everyone gets what's fair for them. At the end of the day, we're all artists ... The hardest thing with the strike is that it's likely going to determine the number of episodes that we can do."
Luckily, with both unions reaching agreements with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) in late September and early November respectively, it won't be long before we dive into the world of Three Rock once again!
