This former Boston Bruins forward is going to miss a good amount of time.
Former Boston Bruins forward Tomas Nosek signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Florida Panthers this off-season. This was after the 32-year-old appeared in 36 games for the New Jersey Devils last season, posting two goals, four assists, and a minus-11 rating.
Overall, it was a challenging year for Nosek, as he dealt with injury trouble and struggled to produce. Unfortunately, his 2024-25 campaign has now started off on the wrong foot.
During the Panthers' recent pre-season contest against the Nashville Predators, Nosek suffered an upper-body injury. According to Panthers head coach Paul Maurice, Nosek is set to miss "weeks, not days."
This is certainly unfortunate news regarding Nosek. The veteran forward is looking to put together a bounce-back season with his new club, but he will now be sidelined for a good chunk of time. Here's to hoping that he has a speedy recovery and does not suffer any setbacks along the way.
In 141 games over two seasons as a Bruin, Nosek had 10 goals, 35 points, and 65 hits.
