Exclusive Details! ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Dad Bar Smith Arrested for Kidnapping, Harassment & Other Serious Charges

“Oops, I did it again!”

Bar Smith is officially behind bars.

The Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star– -who is the father of Ashley Jones‘ daughter Holly— was arrested on Sunday in Nevada on a slew of very serious charges, including kidnapping– and The Ashley has the details!

Sleuths on Reddit first noticed that Bar was in jail, and The Ashley can confirm that the arrest took place on July 7 for an incident that happened in Henderson Township in Nevada. (As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Ashley and Holly currently live in Las Vegas, while Bar resides in California and is on probation. Ashley and Bar had been living in separate states and split a while back.)

Cops determined that there was enough probable cause to arrest Bar and charge him with second-degree Felony Kidnapping. (In Nevada, a second-degree kidnapping charge is usually given when the offender allegedly holds another person against their will in some way, but without doing— or having the intent of doing— actual harm to them.)

If Bar is convicted of this crime, it carries some serious jail time. In Nevada, second-degree kidnapping is a category B felony that could lead to a sentence of between two to 15 years in prison, as well as up to $15,000 in fines.

There are no “Child Endangerment” charges listed, so it does not appear that the alleged victim was a child. (The Ashley can not confirm this, however.)

Bar is also being charged with “Coercion Domestic Violence with the Threat Of or Using Physical Force,” which is another felony. (This is essentially a charge in which the defendant allegedly made the victim(s) do something by threatening to use— or using— physical violence against them.)

Um….

The next charge is first-degree Harassment, a misdemeanor. (This is his first time being charged with this, otherwise he would have been charged with a gross misdemeanor.) Nevada code states that a person is guilty of harassment if that person threatens–without lawful authority— to cause future bodily injury to another person; threatens to cause physical damage to another person’s property; threatens to subject another person to physical confinement or restraint; or threatens to do any act that will substantially harm the person’s physical safety or mental health.

Bar’s last charge appears to be unrelated to the other three. He was charged with “Contempt of Municipal Court.” However, The Ashley can confirm that an active arrest warrant was issued for Bar on July 4 in Henderson for “Failure to Pay.” (This likely means that he has failed to pay child support to Ashley for Holly in an amount that is more than $5,000. The Ashley can’t confirm this is the case; however, an arrest warrant is issued in Nevada if a person owes more than $5,000 in child support.)

Bar, on paying his child support…allegedly.

Bar is currently being held in jail, with bail set to $35,000. He will face a judge on Tuesday for a Pre-Trial Custody Status Hearing. It does not appear that Bar currently has an attorney.

This is certainly not Bar’s first stay behind bars. Back in 2021, Bar was was arrested for “willful discharge of firearm in negligent manner,” which is a felony.

#NeverForget Bar was wearing a “Shoot Loots” shirt while taking his mugshot for a gun charge…

That situation led to another arrest the following year for being a fugitive from justice in another state, a charge Bar later claimed he committed unknowingly. He was sentenced to 24 months of probation for the original gun charge.

In 2018, Bar was arrested for one count of misdemeanor “Battery on a Spouse/Ex Spouse/Date/Etc.”  In 2015, Bar–then only 18– was arrested after getting into a fight with Ashley’s family at a local hospital (as you do). Bar was charged with one count of possession of meth, one count of trespassing and one count of giving false information to police. For the 2015 incident, Bar pleaded not guilty to all three misdemeanor counts. According to Starcasm, two of the counts —meth possession and providing false information to police— were dismissed in March of 2016. For the trespassing charge, Bar received a deferred judgment.

Meanwhile, Ashley has not yet commented on her baby daddy’s latest lock up. She did.  however, post a photo of herself in the arms of another (anonymous) man on Monday morning, seemingly to let her fans know that she has moved on from Bar for good.

“Get some tissues at the jail commissary and cry your eyes out, Bar!”

The Ashley has requested more information on Bar’s arrest and will update when more info is available. Stay tuned!
