Bachelor Nation star and famous twin Emily Ferguson Karlsson married professional hockey player William Karlsson in July 2022 in Las Vegas.

Then, last year, Emily and William welcomed their first child together, son Beckham William Karlsson.

Now, Emily is celebrating one of her very first Mother’s Days with Bachelor Nation. She opened up to us about life as a new mom.

Check out our full chat with the Bachelor Nation star below!

Bachelor Nation: Happy Mother’s Day, Emily! What has life been like since welcoming Beckham?

Emily Karlsson: Thank you so much! Life since welcoming Beckham has been so exciting! Life has more meaning now. Seeing the world through his eyes is so magical! We have been so busy, but it’s been the best year yet with Beckham by our side.

BN: That is so sweet. What has surprised you most about motherhood?

EK: I think what’s surprised me most is how comfortable being a mom feels. How right it feels. It’s always so scary to become a first-time parent. All the unknowns. But it’s crazy how everything just falls into place and makes sense. It’s like I don’t even know what life before Beckham was like. He’s truly our biggest blessing.

BN: That is incredible. You’re such a natural! Do you have a favorite part of motherhood so far?

EK: Is it too cheesy to say everything?!?! I love everything. I love the simple things with him! Just day to day life with him. Watching him learn new things. I love how every activity and every holiday is more exciting just because he’s here with us.

BN: Never too cheesy! That’s so on-point. How would you say motherhood has changed you?

EK: Motherhood has made me way more sensitive. I’m an emotional person to begin with, but now it’s just water works all the time! He’s about to be 1 years old and I cry every time I think about it. Motherhood has made me more mature and selfless. It’s about Beckham now and I wouldn't have it any other way. He's my best excuse as to why I'm staying home!

BN: What a beautiful transformation. What milestones are you most looking forward to with Beckham in the future?

EK: Talking! I can’t wait to hear him say more words and just the silly things he will say! It’s going to be so fun to listen to him talking and what is on his mind. Toddlers always seem to say the funniest things. Beckham already makes me laugh so much I can’t imagine how hard I’ll be laughing once he can talk in full sentences.

BN: Oh, yes! That’s such a major one. What does being a mom mean to you?

EK: Being a mom is such an honor. To be here to witness his life and all his milestones is truly the honor of a lifetime. I will never take motherhood for granted. It’s a love like no other. Unexplainable. Truly blissful and perfect. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. My heart is so full.

BN: Okay, now we’re getting emotional over here! What do you hope to teach Beckham as he grows up?

EK: Kindness. Cheesy. But this world is so full of hate and bullying. All I want is for Beckham to be kind and lift others up. Be a safe place for people. A good friend. A hard worker. I hope he sees how my husband and I treat people and learns from us. Kindness is always the best policy.

BN: Absolutely. Do you have any advice for fellow new parents?

EK: Soak it all up. Like everyone says it goes by so quickly. Take all the pictures and videos because these are all memories you’ll want to look back on.

BN: Great advice! Do you have a proudest moment as a mom?

EK: I’m so proud of everything. He’s so unbelievably smart!!! When he first started taking his first steps, I couldn't even believe it. I'm so proud of how brave he is! He isn’t scared of anything. I can tell he’s going to be an athlete for sure!

BN: Love that! And last question, would you let Beckham watch your Bachelor Nation journey one day when he’s older?

EK: Of course! I hope he gets a good laugh from it!

BN: Thank you so much, Emily! And have a very happy Mother’s Day!
