Falcons trying to add depth within.
The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed a couple of talented veterans today.
The team signed veteran wide receiver/special teams contributor KhaDarel Hodge and defensive lineman Ta'Quon Graham during the official start of the NFL's league year on Wednesday.
According to a report from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Hodge signed a two-year, $6 million contract while Graham received a one-year deal. Fans may remember Hodge making the game-winning catch in Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hodge also contributes on special teams. Although he is not usually the target of a high catch output, having only snagged seven balls during the 2024 season, he is considered a great teammate and backup for adding depth to the roster.
Ta'Quon Graham will remain with the team on his one-year deal. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career in Atlanta. He has appeared in 49 games in his time with the Falcons, and has started 16 games.
Graham may be trying to fill the shoes of recently released Grady Jarrett, but he will not be expected to do so alone. Atlanta plans to go all in on the defensive side of the football during the NFL Draft in April.
With Graham only being 27 years old, Atlanta has faith in him to be a vocal part of the team's defense going forward. This is especially true given that ramping up the pressure on opposing quarterbacks has been a hot topic of conversation of late.
