After a dissapointing 2024 season, the Falcons look to add some firepower in the 2025 NFL Draft.
After a controversial first-round pick in 2024 at the time in Michael Penix Jr., which turned out to be a potential blessing in disguise after a poor season from Kirk Cousins, the Atlanta Falcons have answered some questions on offense. However, they still have plenty on defense. National Championship winner Kenneth Grant out of Michigan looks to be the perfect piece to the puzzle.
After getting rid of veteran Grady Jarrett, the Falcons look thin on the interior defensive line, and a standout 6-foot-4, 331-pound, Third-Team All-American looks to be a no question pick. FOX draft analyst Joel Klatt even believes Grant could be the best defensive player to come out of this draft, and that is major praise with players like Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter in this class.
In his career with the Michigan Wolverines, Grant would be a dominant force on the defensive line and would help them win a national title in 2023. He would also be a two-time All-Big Ten member. In his most recent season, he would finish with 69 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and an interception.
At the combine, he did 22 reps on bench press and came in with an arm size of 33 1/2 inches. He decided to forgo his senior year, and it should work out well for him as he is a consensus first round pick in this year's draft.
The Falcons will look to jump back up this season, especially after a monster campaign from Bijan Robinson and some stellar flashes from Michael Penix Jr. They will also look to build off a solid secondary and try to fix some holes in the defense.
