The Atlanta Falcons have added two defensive players to their 16-man practice squad, signing linebacker Rashaan Evans and defensive lineman Kyler Baugh on Tuesday afternoon.
Evans, a former first-round pick, has gone back and forth from the practice squad to the 53-man roster all season long. Last week, the Falcons released Evans from the active roster and signed wide receiver Chris Blair off the practice squad.
The veteran inside linebacker has recorded 485 tackles (286 solo), five sacks and two interceptions over 87 career games (68 starts). Evans gives the team a little extra depth for a potential playoff run.
Baugh signed with the New Orleans Saints following the 2024 NFL draft but did not make the 53-man roster. The former Minnesota standout played in 13 games for the Golden Gophers last season, racking up 41 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
The Falcons will look for their third straight victory against the Washington Commanders in Week 17. With a win, Atlanta’s chances of making the playoffs would jump from 54 percent to 85 percent.
Sunday’s game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET and will air on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
