The Atlanta Falcons have three quality inside linebackers on the roster but two of them have been slowed by injuries over the first seven weeks of the season.
Nate Landman missed four games due to calf and quad injuries before returning in Week 6 while Troy Andersen missed the last three games due to a knee injury. For the first time since Week 1, both players could be active on game day.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said Andersen will return to practice on Wednesday but be limited to individual drills. That wasn’t the only positive injury development, though.
According to team reporter Tori McElhaney, left guard Matthew Bergeron is participating at Wednesday’s practice:
Bergeron exited Sunday’s loss to be evaluated for a concussion and was ruled out for the rest of the game due to a neck injury. The Falcons have a tough division matchup this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both teams have 4-3 records and the winner of Sunday’s game will finally have some breathing room in NFC South.
