The Atlanta Falcons signed another veteran defensive end on Friday
Former Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Morgan Fox signed a deal with Atlanta today on a two-year $8.5 million deal. Fox has played in 120 games in the NFL after signing with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent.
Since his rookie year of 2016, where Fox would only play in four games, he has played every game since. He has had 27.5 sacks in his career, with four forced fumbles.
Atlanta's Leonard Floyd and Morgan Fox signings will help mitigate Grady Jarrett's loss. Both men can play different positions and move around in specific schemes. Atlanta has been on a mission to sign veteran talent to the defensive side of the football.
Having finished almost dead last year in sacks, Atlanta has had its sights set on making pressuring opposing quarterbacks a top priority. In this year's NFL Draft, the Falcons have the 15th pick, and it is rumored that they will most definitely use that pick on another defensive weapon.
The Falcons may also look to move back a few spots if a target is available on their list. Atlanta would be stacking a few more future picks, as well as a mid-round pick or two in this year's NFL Draft.
As it stands, Atlanta has lost its privilege of having a fifth round pick this year due to violating the league's anti-tampering policy. The team will also be without a third or sixth round draft pick this year.
