Fans SLAM Britain’s Got Talent Editing After Golden Buzzer Act Gets Wrecked!

What did you miss?

Britain's Got Talent has struck again with its controversial editing.

During Saturday, 8 March's episode of the ITV competition, which sends its champions to the next Royal Variety Performance, fans witnessed Amanda Holden press her Golden Buzzer for young guitarist Olly, who'd been taught to play by his grandad.

Olly's rocker medley might've began with AC/DC tune 'Highway to Hell', yet it's a mystery what else he shredded to as the show's production drowned everything out, and fans were up in arms on social media.

What, how and why?

Strangely, Olly's crowd-pleasing set was deemed unsuitable for ITV1 viewers this weekend, as the BGT editors decided to overlay his skills with squeaky-clean studio recordings from major bands.

This did not go down well with the watching public.

"With a full backing band was hard to tell what Olly was actually playing probably great though," read one reaction on X.

A second person wrote: "We couldn't bloody hear what he was actually playing it looked like he was just doing air guitar why play over his actual sound."

"Oliver, you're 11 and you're already a star," KSI told the performer after his routine. "I loved it, it was crazy, you were like a completely different person. Fully deserved that Golden Buzzer."

What else happened on Britain's Got Talent?

Later on in the show, a guy named Lan Guangping stepped onto the stage with a translator to warn the BGT judges (Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, KSI and Holden) that his audition was both unique and dangerous.

Cue one of the most random acts ever, as he miraculously jumped onto and then walked up a stairway made of chicken eggs - without cracking them.

Guangping, as you'd expect, was sent through to the next round.

Britain's Got Talent airs Saturdays on ITV1 and ITVX.

Britain’s Got Talent has aired yet another Golden Buzzer act, as the TV talent show headed to Blackpool for the latest round of auditions.

Tonight’s episode saw the judges impressed by 11-year-old musician Olly Pearson, who performed a guitar solo mash-up of rock hits including AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’ and Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’.

Both audiences and judges were impressed by Olly, who shared before his performance how he was “nervous” performing to such a big audience after learning to play the guitar with his granddad who was supporting him backstage.

During his performance, Olly asked the cheering audience: “Blackpool, are you ready to jump?”, while the audience cheered to his performance.

As he finished playing, KSI summed up Olly’s performance by saying: “That was sick!”. Amanda was the one to press the Golden Buzzer, telling him: “Olly, I mean literally a star is born! I have never, ever seen anything like that in my life. I just think you deserve the Golden Buzzer!”

Olly looked thrilled as the stage was covered in golden confetti, in a move that means he’ll go straight through to the live-semi finals.

Viewers at home were a fan of the performance too, with one writing on Twitter/X: “So far this series the #BGT judges have been too trigger-happy with the #GoldenBuzzer but in this case Olly Pearson deserves it. He’s going to be amazing in 5 years time.”

Another person wrote: “I've been a rock & roll fan all my life. That was OUTSTANDING. Well done Olly!”, while someone else added: “I’m a big fan of AC/DC and I knew I was gonna love Olly. Great job mate.”

Olly follows another Golden Buzzer act from last week where viewers saw supermarket worker Stacey Leadbeatter take to the stage to perform an emotional rendition of ‘Run’ by Snow Patrol.
