Fans Unbothered by Jen Shah's Potential Return to RHOSLC After Her Jail Release

Jen Shah took reality TV drama to another level after getting arrested for fraud, and it seems even RHOSLC fans think she went too far. There’s not much that reality TV fans turn their nose up at when it comes to on-screen drama. After all, the dirtier a reality show gets, the better, right?

But now that it looks like Jen might be getting out of jail sooner than people expected, the rumors that she would be coming back on the show after she serves her time started up again, and the response wasn’t great.

Back in October, it was announced that Jen Shah’s sentence had been reduced, meaning she will likely become a free woman by late 2027, almost two years earlier than originally planned. And fans… aren’t thrilled about that.

When the news broke, people debated over it on Reddit, and the general consensus seems to be that fans aren’t interested in her return. In fact, they’d be happy to forget about her completely.

“I have zero interest in Jen’s life when she comes out of prison. It was different with Teresa, probably because of the girls more than anything. But Jen? Aside from her scumbag scam, she sucked the life out of the show. It’s much better without her,” one user wrote.

Someone else agreed with that, adding that “The show is much, much more entertaining without her.” Another user pointed out that they believed Andy Cohen was “disgusted” with Jen and wouldn’t allow her to come back, and many people agreed, saying that “the door is closed for Jen.”

People Believe Jen’s Crime Is Unforgivable

It’s not just that fans didn’t like what Jen brought to the show. While of course fans’ opinions on her on-screen personality are important, a lot of Housewives have been hated over the years and that didn’t stop them from either staying or returning to the screens.

No, this is bigger than just viewers disliking a villain. For most fans, Jen crossed a line, and they’re not interested in watching her anymore because they severely disapprove of what she did. The reason she is currently in prison is that she defrauded the elderly, and no matter how much time passes and how much she regrets it, fans just can’t forgive her for it.

“I love a problematic Housewife as much (or as more) as the next guy, but I don’t need to see someone who defrauded the elderly on TV,” someone wrote in response to the news that her sentence had been reduced.

“Her crimes were so targeted towards the old and vulnerable that she doesn’t deserve any platform when she gets out,” another user added.

“I highly doubt she will reflect on her crimes and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she comes out claiming she was innocent. She made season 3 suck. Everybody was terrified of her and watching her was just draining. Seasons 4 and 5 (so far) have been so good without her. I think RHOSLC might be my current favourite franchise, we don’t need her.”

“I hope she’s rotting in there. She’s the type that will learn absolutely nothing from this.”

There are still a few years to go, so fans could still change their minds, but at the moment, they don’t seem ready to forgive her.

Jen Pleaded Guilty After Being Arrested

Something a lot of fans brought up when discussing Jen’s possible return to the show was Teresa Giudice’s situation. As RHONJ fans will remember, Teresa went to jail for almost a year for tax fraud, but despite pleading guilty, she maintained her innocence, saying that she didn’t know what she was signing at the time and that she was misled by her ex-husband, Joe Giudice.

Jen, on the other hand, not only pleaded guilty but also admitted to knowing she was hurting people with her schemes. For viewers, that makes all the difference.

“Teresa was defrauding the government, not deliberately stealing people’s retirement funds, and was able to put the blame on Joe while with Jen it was undeniable she was the one running the scheme,” a fan wrote.

Back in 2022, Jen told a court of law that she “knew it was wrong, many people were harmed and I’m so sorry.”

She admitted she “agreed with others to commit with wire fraud” and “knew it misled” elderly victims, adding that she was fully aware that she was breaking the law while she was doing it.

It’s pretty difficult to come back from that.

According to Jen’s lawyer, the Housewife admitted to her illegal activities because she wanted to “pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family.”

“Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed. Ms. Shah is also sorry for disappointing her husband, children, family, friends, and supporters.”

While she might be truly regretful of the harm she caused, it’s understandable that fans have a hard time overlooking her actions for the sake of entertainment, so even if she got out of jail tomorrow, it’s unlikely she would get a warm reception.
