Besides the fires which put Bode and his team's lives in danger week after week, Fire Country has a wealth of storylines that keep the excitement high. The firefighter has made big strides in his personal life across the show's three seasons thus far, but the tragedy that concluded Fire Country season 3 threatens to undermine all of Bode's hard work. With the drama still at a fever pitch, CBS has renewed the series for a fourth season, but there are going to be some major changes when Fire Country finally returns.
The series' co-creator and executive producer Tony Phelan was hopeful that Arcila will return to reprise her role in a guest capacity in the future, and he promised that "the Bode-Gabriela story does not end here." However, it's unclear how her exit will be handled in the upcoming season, or how her return could also be factored into the ongoing narrative.
This not only proves the tremendous confidence that the network has in the series, but also suggests that Fire Country could become a long-running hit for the network.
Though the news wasn't all that surprising considering the series' overwhelming popularity, it was still a small shock when CBS renewed a large swath of its primetime slate in February 2025. With a few episodes left in the show's third season, Fire Country season 4 was ordered by CBS. This not only proves the tremendous confidence that the network has in the series, but also suggests that Fire Country could become a long-running hit for the network. More information about season 4 is expected to arrive in the weeks following season 3's finale.
The rich ensemble of Fire Country has grown across its three seasons thus far, and things aren't expected to change going into season 4. Season 3's finale left a few fates hanging in the balance, and it's already been confirmed that several main cast members won't be coming back. However, Max Theriot will return as troubled former inmate firefighter, Bode Donovan, and the series co-creator and star still has a lot to do before the show concludes. Unfortunately, Stephanie Arcilla will be departing from the role of Gabriela Perez, though a future return isn't off the table.
Another crucial exit is that of Billy Burke as Fire Battalion Chief Vince Leone, and it can be assumed that his character will be killed off after the roof collapse in the season 3 finale. Sharon (Diane Farr) and Walter (Jeff Fahey) were also caught in the collapse, but the former is expected to pull through since she's set to appear in the spinoff, Sheriff Country. Meanwhile, the final fate of Vince's father, Walter, will likely be left uncertain until the premiere of season 4.
The presumptive cast of Fire Country season 4 includes:

Not to be outdone by previous season finales, the conclusion of Fire Country season 3 was a shocking and heartbreaking ride. Bode disobeyed strict orders and entered the burning Buena Vista nursing home to help, and this prompted some of his teammates to come to his aid. Unfortunately, Vince, Sharon, and Walter were all still inside Buena Vista when its roof collapsed, putting all three in an unlikely survival situation. With Billy Burke not returning in season 4, it can be assumed that Vince dies. However, Sharon will likely pull through while it's unclear what will happen to Walter.
This will have a profound effect on Bode, and it may even undo the years of progress he's made since the beginning of the show. On the home front, Gabriela won't be returning in season 4 either, though her character is being written out and not killed. Why she's leaving is currently uncertain, though it may actively factor into the storyline of season 4. Speaking of which, Bode will have to pick up the pieces and decide his future, and Vince's possible death could see him reevaluating his life in Fire Country season 4.
