First ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Promo Teases Music Will Play a “Huge Role” in the Disaster Drama

In the most fitting Nashville, Tennessee fashion, audiences just got their first look at 9-1-1: Nashville at this year's CMA Fest, held in downtown Nashville, which teases just how intertwined the "music" in Music City will be with the upcoming 9-1-1 spin-off. The upcoming series will air on Thursdays on ABC after the flagship 9-1-1 returns for its ninth season. The new promo comes just days after the announcement of a new batch of cast members.

In the promo, played for audiences inside Nissan Stadium last night, we learned that some of the firefighters a part of the show will be aspiring musicians. The show is aiming to be big and crazy and spectacular, which is a tall order after the most recent season of 9-1-1 kicked the season off with a Bee-nado and ended it with the shocking death of Bobby Nash (Peter Krause).

Who Stars in '9-1-1: Nashville'?

The newest 9-1-1 spin-off, premiering later this fall, after the conclusion of 9-1-1: Lone Star, will be led by Chris O'Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles), playing fire captain Don Sharpe. Joining O'Donnell is Grey's Anatomy's Jessica Capshaw, playing Blythe Ward. Two additional bigger names were announced, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Father of the Bride), as well as country singer LeAnn RimesHailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey were announced just earlier this week, effectively rounding out the cast of the 9-1-1 spin-off set in Music City.

According to Variety, Kilgore plays Taylor, one of the firefighters and aspiring singers we just heard teased. Provost plays Ryan, a "modern-day cowboy and firefighter." McVey plays Blue, another firefighter with a dark past. Feliz plays Roxie, a "former adrenaline junkie and trauma surgeon." The casting of Feliz also marks the first confirmed non-firefighter role. It's unclear who Williams-Paisley, Rimes, and Capshaw will play in terms of their characters' occupations. It's unknown if any of them will work at the dispatch center in Nashville, fielding calls about wrecks on the Briley Parkway.

Williams-Paisley as well as Rimes will bring unique perspectives, having logged a lot of hours in the real city. Williams-Paisley, married to country singer Brad Paisley, is a Nashville resident, heavily involved in the philanthropy of the community. When Williams-Paisley's casting was announced, her husband affectionately posted to social media, "Oh great," in reaction.
