First-Round Gamble? TreVeyon Henderson to Broncos Sparks Heated Debate

RB TreVeyon Henderson to visit Bengals this week - NBC Sports

Good Morning Broncos Country!

When talking first round running back, it’s either somehow trading up for Ashton Jeanty or taking Omarion Hampton at 20, but should we be including TreVeyon Henderson in that conversation? The explosive Ohio State runner is often viewed as a second round pick but he could be a legit option for the Broncos at their 20th overall selection.

NFL Network’s lead draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah tweeted yesterday that Henderson might go much earlier than the general consensus currently has him going. He states that he is a mismatch player who is an exceptional pass protector who has home run ability whenever he has the ball in his hands.

As we know, Sean Payton is looking for that ‘Joker’ at running back, and Henderson checks a lot of boxes. He is an explosive runner and pass catcher and is arguably the best pass-protecting running back in the draft. He has three-down potential and could thrive in Sean Payton’s offense.

So, while Omarion Hampton continues to be the popular pick at 20th overall, I wouldn’t rule out Henderson becoming a more and more legit option as we near the start of the 2025 NFL Draft.
