JOHN Pierce stunned judges on Britain’s Got Talent last night (Saturday, March 8).
John, who lives in Essex but is originally from Holywell, produced an emotional performance which moved judges Bruno Tonioli, Alicia Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell.
The music teacher, who wanted to surprise his children by appearing on the ITV1 show, performed ‘Creep’ by Radiohead, but was initially stopped by Simon Cowell who asked him to start again after sensing his nerves during the opening lines.
John then blew the judges and the audience away with a rousing rendition, eventually achieving four yeses from the panel.
Amanda Holden said that the performance made her cry her eyes out, saying: “I couldn’t stop thinking about your daughter and how proud she is going to be of you and your voice is unbelievable.”
Alicia Dixon agreed, saying that she could see he was nervous but that
Bruno Tonioli added: “Don’t ever doubt your ability, this was a very special audition, thank you.”
Simon Cowell said: “These are our favourite kinds of auditions, where you just don’t know where this is going.”
He added that John had got “4,000 yeses” as the crowd got to their feet to give the 41-year-old a standing ovation.
