Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler is officially back from his stint on the Injury Reserve, where he was placed after taking a puck to the knee that left him with significant numbness in his right leg.
Seeler, who has not been able to skate in any of the Flyers' five NHL games so far this season, was back on the ice for practice on Oct. 21 and confirmed that he will be back in the lineup for the Flyers' game against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 22.
The defenseman, who has drawn high praise for his shot-blocking, said that the puck hit him in "just the right place"—the knee area where there was no padding to protect him.
"The numbness was on the whole outside of my right led and into my foot," he described. "It took a week and half, two weeks, to start feeling normal and then we've just been working on stability... We've progressed pretty well here in the last couple of days."
