In the first wave of international roster announcements Monday, it was revealed that the Philadelphia Flyers will be represented by Rodrigo Abols, who was one of the first six players named to Latvia's roster, in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Abols, 29, made his NHL debut with the Flyers earlier this season, playing 10:39 against the Detroit Red Wings on Jan. 21. The former Vancouver Canucks draft pick scored two goals, three assists, and five points in 22 games for the Flyers this season.
On the core of Latvia's Olympic roster, Abols is joined by fellow NHLers Arturs Silovs, Elvis Merzlikins, Uvis Balinskis, Teddy Blueger, and Zemgus Girgensons.

No other Flyers players were named to the "core six" of their respective, though it is generally expected that Flyers stars Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim will represent Canada when it comes down to it.
Goalie Sam Ersson could be in the mix for Sweden, and defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, when healthy, should feature for Finland.
Additionally, former Flyers fan-favorite Pierre-Edouard Bellemare was one of the six players named to France's roster for the Winter Olympics.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will kick off on Feb. 6, 2026 in locations all across Italy. The full hockey rosters, complete with the aforementioned missing Flyers, will be announced later this year.
