Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Briere is not ignoring the possibility of selecting Caleb Desnoyers sixth overall at the 2025 NHL Draft in June. In fact, he's embracing it.

Briere was quizzed about Desnoyers on RDS's "5 a 7" program, and while treading carefully with his answer, the Flyers GM couldn't resist entertaining the idea.

"Listen, it will be interesting. What's interesting from that opportunity is that he's part of our family through his brother [Elliot Desnoyers], who is part of the Flyers organization and has played a few games over the past two seasons with us," Briere told RDS. "So, we already know his family quite a bit. So, we'll see. Caleb's had a very, very good season and we are continuing to follow him. It will be interesting to watch him at the Memorial Cup and how he'll perform.

"We are very proud of him and his brother Elliot."

A big thanks to my colleague, Jacob Titus, for the French translation!

Desnoyers, 18, is leading his Moncton Wildcats team into the Memorial Cup, with their first game being played against Flyers prospects Denver Barkey, Oliver Bonk, and the London Knights, who recently became champions of the OHL once again, at 6 p.m. Saturday night.

Desnoyers is coming off a dominant stretch of 18 playoff games, wherein he posted nine goals, 21 assists, and a whopping 30 total points. In the regular season, the 6-foot-2 pivot racked up 35 goals, 49 assists, and 84 points in just 56 QMJHL games.

Between Briere, brother Elliot Desnoyers, Sean Couturier, Nick Deslauriers, and Jakob Pelletier, the French-Canadian Flyers pipeline is strong and makes for a legitimate connection to Caleb Desnoyers.

Desnoyers is currently ranked as high as third and as low as 14th per rankings compiled on EliteProspects, though the stud center is firmly entrenched in top-10, if not top-5, consideration for the upcoming 2025 draft at this point.

The Flyers hold the No. 6 pick in the draft and have plenty of ammo to move up a spot or two to secure Desnoyers if they wish. An interesting few weeks are ahead.
