The Philadelphia Flyers are asking for this return in any potential trade centering around this goalie prospect.

Last week, it was reported by Anthony Di Marco that Philadelphia Flyers prospect Alexei Kolosov is not expected to report to training camp. Given all of the rumors surrounding Kolosov this summer, this is not a surprising development in the slightest.

Throughout the offseason, it has been reported that Kolosov was unhappy with his lack of playing time with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He also felt homesick while with the AHL squad.

Given all of this, Kolosov has naturally emerged as a trade candidate for the Flyers. It appears that Philadelphia has now set its price for the prospect.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Flyers have informed interested teams that the price to acquire Kolosov is a second-round pick. However, Friedman also noted that teams will not acquire Kolosov unless they are completely sure that he would join them.

Given Kolosov's upside, it is understandable that the Flyers would want a second-round pick in any move centering around the 22-year-old. The 2021 third-round pick has shown real promise in the KHL and could one day become an NHL-caliber goalie. For example, after being loaned to Dynamo Minsk this past season, he posted a 22-21-3 record, a .907 save percentage (SV%), and a 2.39 goals-against average (GAA) in 47 games.

Kolosov was also very good for Dynamo Minsk in 2022-23, recording a .912 SV% and a 2.55 GAA in 42 games.

Nevertheless, it will be very interesting to see what the Flyers end up doing with Kolosov. If he expresses his willingness to play in North America for another organization, he could be a very hot commodity on the trade market.
