The Philadelphia Flyers made a notable move on May 30, signing forward Tyson Foerster to a two-year, $7.5 million contract extension. Foerster was one of the Flyers' top pending restricted free agents heading into the summer, but they worked quickly to get him signed to this solid bridge deal.

Foerster certainly earned his nice raise, as he had a strong 2024-25 season with the Flyers. In 81 games with the Metropolitan Division club, he set new career highs with 25 goals, 18 assists, and 43 points. This was after he posted 20 goals and 33 points in 77 games as a rookie for Philly in 2023-24.

Overall, Foerster took a nice step forward this campaign, but there is clear reason to believe that he can hit another new level in 2025-26. At 23 years old, Foerster is still very much developing his game and continuing to adjust to the NHL level. Now, with another season under his belt, it would not be surprising in the slightest if the 2020 first-round pick reaches new heights next season for the Flyers.

Foerster notably also ended this season on a serious heater. In his final nine games of the 2024-25 campaign, the 6-foot-2 forward recorded nine goals, 11 points, and a plus-3 rating. Perhaps this could be foreshadowing what's to come next from the highly skilled forward.

Nevertheless, it is going to be very fascinating to see what kind of season Foerster puts together for the Flyers in 2025-26. The potential for him to be a 30-goal and 50-point marks is there if he stays healthy.
