Team Canada had their first practice for the 4 Nations Face-Off on Feb. 10. Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim was a participant at it, but Travis Konecny was unfortunately unable to attend.
According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, Konecny was not on the ice for Canada's practice because he is dealing with an illness.
Canada's first game of the tournament is on Feb. 12 against Sweden. Thus, Konecny still has a bit of time to recover from his sickness.
Konecny, 27, is having a spectacular season with the Flyers this season. In 57 games, he has 22 goals, 61 points, and 71 hits. Canada will certainly benefit from his offense and grit once he is 100%.
