Former 49er Urges Team to Sign Star Receiver

The San Francisco 49ers parted ways with long-time star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, so they could be looking to fill the hole in their wide receiver room that he left behind.

And a former 49ers starter has an idea.

Former Niners' offensive lineman Jon Feliciano took to X to post about who San Francisco should sign, and it just so happens that it is one of his former teammates from his time with the Buffalo Bills.

"Gabe Davis would be a perfect fit in SF," Feliciano posted.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Wednesday that they were cutting Gabe Davis due to a new look in their wide receiver room thanks to 2025 NFL Draft second overall pick Travis Hunter.

Davis has proven in the past that he is a very talented deep threat in the NFL, and he could be a player for the 49ers to consider signing to bolster their wide receiver corps.

He only played 10 games for the Jags, but in his time with the Bills, he was one of the best WR2s in the league next to Stefon Diggs. His combination of size and speed makes him someone you always have to pay attention to downfield, and that could be exactly what the Niners are looking for.

The team currently has Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, and Jauan Jennings as their guys on the outside, so they would be okay to run with what they have and see what happens. But signing an experience guy like Davis could be something for the team to at least consider.
