Former Boston Bruins Forward Announces Retirement

   

This former Bruins forward has called it a career.

Former Boston Bruins forward Steven Fogarty announced on his Instagram account that he has officially retired from professional hockey.

Fogarty, 31, spent the 2021-22 season with the Bruins organization. He played with the Providence Bruins for the majority of that campaign, posting 12 goals and 42 points in 62 games. He also played in two games for Boston, where he had two shots and a minus-2 rating.

Following his one-year stint with the Bruins, Fogarty spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Wild organization. He primarily played with their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, posting 37 goals and 86 points in 134 games over two seasons. He also made two appearances for Minnesota in 2022-23. 

Fogarty appeared in 31 games over five NHL seasons split between the New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, Bruins, and Wild, where he had one goal and three points. He also had a lengthy and successful stint in the AHL, where he notably was a captain for both the Hartford Wolf Pack and Rochester Americans.
