Former Bruin Brad Marchand's Possible Panthers Debut Date Revealed

At the 2025 NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins shocked the hockey world by trading former captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers. While Marchand was in the rumor mill leading up to the deadline, it was surprising to see him get moved to the team that knocked the Bruins out of the post-season two years in a row.

After suffering an injury in his final game as a Bruin on March 1, Marchand has yet to make his debut with the Panthers. However, that appears to be changing shortly.

While speaking to reporters, including team reporter Jameson Olive, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice shared that Marchand could make his debut with the club on March 28 against the Utah Hockey Club. However, Maurice also specified that it is not a guarantee yet.

If Marchand is given the green light to return against Utah, he certainly would provide their forward group a big boost at a good time. The Panthers are currently tied in points with the Toronto Maple Leafs at the top of the Atlantic Division. Thus, they have a lot to play for right now, and Marchand will help them tremendously once he is in their lineup.

Once Marchand makes his debut, it will be incredibly strange for Bruins fans to get used to see No. 63 in a Panthers sweater. In 1,090 games over 16 seasons with the Bruins, he had 422 goals, 554 assists, 976 points, and a plus-284 rating.
