This former Bruins defenseman is moving on from the organization.
Former Boston Bruins defenseman Dan Renouf has found a new home, signing a one-year AHL contract with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Renouf spent each of the last two seasons with the Bruins organization, where he was a key part of the Providence Bruins' defense. He made one appearance for the NHL club in 2022-23, posting a minus-3 rating. However, he did not play for Boston in 2023-24.
Renouf spent the entirety of this past season down in Providence, where he quietly had one of his best AHL campaigns to date. In 63 games with the Baby B's, he posted five goals - a new career high - to go along with 21 points, 77 penalty minutes, and a plus-34 rating. Overall, the Pickering, Ontario native proved to be a very solid veteran presence with Providence.

After a solid AHL season like this, it seemed possible that Renouf would land another two-way contract from an NHL club. However, that did not come to fruition, and Renouf has signed this AHL deal because of it. He can, however, receive an NHL deal at any time while under this AHL contract.
In 24 career NHL games split between the Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche, and Bruins, Renouf has three assists, 23 penalty minutes, 28 hits, and a minus-6 rating.
