This former Boston Bruins defenseman has signed with the Calgary Flames.
The Calgary Flames have signed former Boston Bruins defenseman Jarred Tinordi to a one-year, two-way contract. He will have an $800,000 cap hit at the NHL level.
Tinordi was one of the many former Bruins players still without a home in September, but that has now changed after landing this deal with the Flames. Tinordi will now serve as a veteran depth defender for the Flames for the upcoming season.
Tinordi, 32, spent this past season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks. In 52 games on the year, the 6-foot-6 defender posted zero goals, nine assists, 94 blocks, and 171 hits.
After being claimed off waivers by the Bruins, Tinordi spent the final portion of the 2020-21 season with the Original Six club. In 14 regular-season games as a Bruin, he had one assist and 44 hits. He also appeared in four playoff games for the Bruins, posting zero points and five penalty minutes.
It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Tinordi will make for the Flames from here.
