Former Bruins Forward Eyeing NHL Return

Former Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is not ready to hang up the skates.

According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, former Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic has spent this summer training in New Jersey and is hoping to continue his professional career.

While Lucic hopes to return, he is currently ineligible to play in the NHL and would need NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to clear him to return, as Seravalli noted.

Last offseason, Lucic signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins. Many Bruins fans hoped Boston would reunite with him for a long time, so there was plenty of excitement about his return. However, his second stint ended after just four games, as he was arrested for assault and battery in November. He entered the NHL Assistance Program shortly after and never returned.

Lucic pleaded not guilty, and the charges were dropped in February after his wife, Brittany, refused to testify. She later filed for divorce in April from Lucic.
